Generous donation made
University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust

We are investing in a state-of-the-art patient transport trolley, thanks to money raised by the Federation of Muslim Organisations of Leicester and Leicester Bakery.

Members of each organisation joined together last year to host a fundraising dinner at the Empire.  £8,000 was raised with £5,000 donated personally by Mr Sabat from Leicester Bakery and presented to Leicester’s Hospitals last year.

The remaining £3,000 will be presented by members of the Federation of Muslim Organisations of Leicester on Thursday 27 May at Leicester General Hospital.

Dr Sanjiv Nichani, consultant paediatric intensivist, said: “Thanks to the generosity of these two organisations we are able to go ahead and buy the transport trolley. The trolley will allow us to retrieve critically ill babies and children from all over the Midlands and bring them back to Leicester for specialist treatment.”
